AGSM Student Association

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) Student Association is dedicated to encouraging the pursuit of excellence for our students in their goals, academic studies, and lifestyles. The association strives to create an environment that advances the interest of the AGSM professional student and to establish a strong and close relationship among students, faculty, alumni, staff, and the business community. Members of the association work as a team to build strong relations among the diverse student body by promoting open communication among students and by developing creative management solutions to potential problem areas within the school. Student Ambassadors

Ambassadors serve as spokespersons for AGSM, network with faculty and administration, interact with other students and seek to enhance prospective students’ knowledge about various student services and programs offered. The program is a great opportunity for students to develop communication and leadership skills. Student Ambassadors are appointed on an annual basis, in the fall of each academic year. Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)

Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the only business honor society recognized by AACSB International. Graduate students in the top 20% of their class are eligible for membership. The mission of BGS is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

UCR Graduate Student Association (GSA)

All graduate students are automatically members of UCR’s Graduate Student Association (GSA), which seeks to represent their views and promote their interests with the faculty and administration, both at the campus level and systemwide. GSA also administers the Minigrant Program, providing travel grants to graduate students presenting scholarly papers or posters at regional and national professional conferences. Visit

Accounting Society

The Accounting Society is committed to helping its members explore accounting careers in the public, private and government sectors. Through a series of networking activities, the organization links AGSM students to valuable contacts in the field of accounting. Guest speakers from the Big Four accounting firms are invited to speak at the Accounting Society's monthly meetings to discuss career opportunities in their respective organizations and also to provide students with valuable information on the interviewing techniques that are used by their firms. The American Marketing Association (AMA)

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the world's largest and most comprehensive professional society for marketers, with nearly 45,000 members in 100 countries. The AMA is dedicated to the development of the diverse field of marketing. The UCR Chapter of AMA provides members with guest speakers from nationally known advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies, including Colgate Palmolive, Neutrogena, and General Electric. Accounting Club

The Accounting Club is devoted to building relationships between students and professionals within the accounting business world. The mission is to provide opportunities for students to learn more about the accounting profession as well as to facilitate networking with key alumni and industry leaders who work at the Big 4, mid-tier, and local firms, as well as various accounting departments in many industries.  By providing speakers, firm tours, socials, and other networking activities the Accounting Club seeks to further develop the tools and knowledge required for careers in accounting, finance, and business. Finance Club

The Finance Club organizes activities to assist members in evaluating careers in finance and identifying current career opportunities, extend the practical finance education with job-specific knowledge and connect members with alumni and other finance professionals. Members will have the opportunity to network with professionals in their field and alumni, attend workshops and conferences, hear guest speakers, and go on company visits. Financial Management Association

The purpose of FMA at UCR shall be fostering the growth of financial, investment, stocks trading, finance, international trade, economics, accounting, statistical analysis, portfolio management science, audit, tax, real estate, operations, marketing, human resource, and other business administration knowledge among its members and making them into global leaders. Marketing Club

The Marketing professional club is a collective of students interested in pursuing marketing related careers. Students hold events in order to gain new insight into current marketing trends. Other events include: speakers, company visits, and competitions. Management, Strategy, and Operations (MSO) Club

The Management, Strategy, and Operations Club is dedicated to educating MBA students about the roles and responsibilities involved in pursuing General Management, Strategy, and Operational careers.  The club strives to increase the number and diversity of the following types of career opportunities available to AGSM students:  General Management, Strategy, Business Development and Leadership and/or Operations.

To fulfill its mission, MSO Club will sponsor many events throughout the academic year, including company visits, workshops, coffee chats and so much more.  Most of all, MSO leverages the backgrounds and experiences of its members and alumni to open doors for those who wish to pursue a General Management, Strategy, and Operations career. Wine Appreciation Society (WAS)

The WAS’s mission is to educate AGSM students about wine, its role in business, and how to appreciate the difference between a Chardonnay vs. a Cabernet Sauvignon.  The WAS holds events such as educational lectures to learn about the essentials of wine and the etiquette of social and business settings. Other events include visits to wineries and industry speakers to gain an insight into the wine industry.  Members are given the opportunity to network with industry leaders and perfect their wine etiquette via seminars and dinners. AGSM Women in Business (WIB)

The Club’s mission is to aid its members in developing professional and personal skills as well as building relationships with corporate recruiters, faculty, alumni, AGSM Students and leading business women. The group hosts opportunities for career development, community service, and social events, and holds monthly meetings. AGSM's student-edited business magazine provides the business community with interesting and insightful articles about the new developments in the Inland Empire and the world.
