AGSM Student Association
The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) Student Association is dedicated to encouraging the pursuit of excellence for our students in their goals, academic studies, and lifestyles. The association strives to create an environment that advances the interest of the AGSM professional student and to establish a strong and close relationship among students, faculty, alumni, staff, and the business community. Members of the association work as a team to build strong relations among the diverse student body by promoting open communication among students and by developing creative management solutions to potential problem areas within the school. Accounting Society
The Accounting Society is committed to helping its members explore accounting careers in the public, private and government sectors. Through a series of networking activities, the organization links AGSM students to valuable contacts in the field of accounting. Guest speakers from the Big Four accounting firms are invited to speak at the Accounting Society's monthly meetings to discuss career opportunities in their respective organizations and also to provide students with valuable information on the interviewing techniques that are used by their firms. The American Marketing Association (AMA)
The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the world's largest and most comprehensive professional society for marketers, with nearly 45,000 members in 100 countries. The AMA is dedicated to the development of the diverse field of marketing. The UCR Chapter of AMA provides members with guest speakers from nationally known advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies, including Colgate Palmolive, Neutrogena, and General Electric. Investment Club
The Investment Club was founded to provide an opportunity for students to practice investment skills acquired in the classroom. Members of the Investment Club have a unique opportunity to control a large portfolio of financial securities that include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, options, futures, and futures options. A large number of trades allowed under the rules of the simulation permit students to actively manage their portfolios and readjust them continuously according to their needs. Latino Business Student Association
The Latino Business Student Association is a student business organization founded at UCR in 1973. LBSA can be found on most college campuses, with each chapter operating independently. The purpose of LBSA is to promote professional careers to underrepresented students through the incorporation of informative workshops, conferences, and speakers throughout the year. LBSA participates in activities that enrich members with issues that assist them to successfully launch their careers, and ultimately become future leaders in the business world.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda
The mission of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Alpha Kappa Psi
Alpha Kappa Psi is America's first professional business fraternity. Founded October 5, 1904 at New York University, the fraternity now has more than 230 college and alumni chapters. The objectives of Alpha Kappa Psi are:
- To further the individual welfare of its members.
- To foster scientific research in the fields of commerce, accounts, and finance.
- To educate the public to appreciate and demand higher ideals therein.
- To promote and advance in institutions of college rank, courses leading to degrees in business administration.
Delta Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce; and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
