The International Business Honors Society Welcomes New Inductees

12 new inductees recite the Beta Gamma Sigma oath

After hearing the altruistic and honorable attributes of what it means to be a business honors society member, about a dozen UCR School of Business students were inducted into the International Honors Society, Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS).

As an international honors society, Beta Gamma Sigma serves AACSB accredited business programs by giving students around the world the highest recognition in business. This recognition allows members to have access to opportunities that will advance their professional life, connect with a strong alumni community, and develop their leadership skills. The University of California, Riverside School of Business has been a part of the BGS international honors society since 2009.

The Beta Gamma Sigma chapter at UCR has proven to be a fruitful organization that has solidified our student’s future success. Soon-to-be graduate, Rani Patel, says she was inducted into BGS in the Spring of 2016, and before preparing to graduate this May, she began her job search. One conversation with a recruiter, where she mentioned she was a BGS member, landed her a dream job at Deloitte.

Rani Patel, graduating business student, shares her story

“As I reflect on that experience, I realized how prestigious this honor society is and the strong impression it continues to offer employers regarding the high caliber of students that are accepted into it,” Rani Patel shares. “This membership is more than highlighting your academic accomplishments; it grants you access to a wide network of BGS members all around the world.”
