8th Annual UCR Oxford Young Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Mansfield College

Professor Jasso and UCR Business students at Buckingham Place, London

The Global Program at UCR School of Business, led by Professor Sean Jasso, takes undergraduate and graduate business students to top business destinations to give them international exposure by seeing first-hand the most important, dynamic and emerging markets in the world.

The second destination of the program was Oxford. The program concluded with the 8th annual UCR Oxford Young Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Mansfield College, University of Oxford.

The final week's residential intensive took students to the BMW Mini manufacturing plant, a Chinese start up tech firm based in London, and was supported by customized lectures by Oxford's Said Business School's faculty on Entrepreneurial Leadership, Raising Seed and Venture Capital, Social Entrepreneurship, Scaling Your Business, Competitive Positioning, and Strategy Innovation.

A central learning activity throughout the week was the team competition of 'pitching your business'.  Each day the student teams work in mentor sessions to create a 'shark tank' type pitch, culminating in a judged session by real visiting venture capitalists from Oxford and London.

Team winners are announced and the student program certificates are presented at our formal concluding dinner.

The students had a great time, received rigorous instruction and have shared their inspiration from studying in this prestigious and historic place.
