Gil Aouizerat speaks on campus for the Dean’s Speaker Series

Trust -- The Most Valuable Business Asset.
How to Get It. How to Keep It. Your Hedge Against Turbulent Times
Gil Aouizerat is Welcomed for Dean's Speaker Series

Gil Aouzierat spoke on campus to students, faculty and staff at the Dean’s Speaker Series on April 6th, 2016. He spoke on the topic of trust and the importance of building and investing in relationships. “You can go on social media and discover many things about a person. But the value of a relationship trumps all commodities.”

Gil Aouizerat is a UCR alumnus and earned a B.S. in Political Science in 1989. Gil has since led an extensive career in multiple industries. But above all, he is an entrepreneur at heart.

Currently, Gil is the CEO of PCX, Inc., a distributor of electronic components and semiconductors to the military, industrial and commercial markets. Gil has provided the vision and leadership to not only survive, but to thrive through 4 recessions while still growing the organization to a current revenue of over 100 million dollars.

“Sales is the transfer of trust. The product is irrelevant,” he emphasized.  “Trust is your most valuable business asset. And knowing how to get it, and how to keep it is your hedge against turbulent times. When you need support, people will rally around you. They will want to see you succeed if you have built strong relationships of trust.”

As a visionary and entrepreneur, he addressed the fear of failure that hinders many individuals from following their passion as entrepreneurs. “The experience of starting with nothing and knowing at any given time you can lose everything changes your perspective. The journey, fun, and experience becomes the more important.”

Gil Aouizerat also manages and operates real estate, ranging from industrial warehouse space to commercial and residential space, as well as assisted living facilities. He has established two successful pizza lounges in beach locations in Los Angeles, with plans to launch two more. Gil has also led several small companies from the incubation stage and at the board level.  He serves on the Board of Directors for IDEA, a non-profit trade organization, and was a founding member of the association in 2003.

The Dean’s Speaker Series brings successful leaders in the business community to share their expertise. Designed to foster critical discussions about business issues, it also provides networking opportunities between corporate executives and business students. Dean’s speakers have achieved national and international prominence in their respective fields and represent a diversity of cultural, political and economic perspectives.
