SoBA earns Beta Alpha Psi chapter

Honor organization aids accounting and financial information students and professionals

(9/22/14)

The UC Riverside School of Business Administration has been awarded a chapter for Beta Alpha Psi, an honor organization for accounting and financial information students and professionals. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since the organization was founded in 1919.

The 2014-15 school year will serve as an interim basis for the chapter before full acceptance in 2015-16.

“Being recognized by Beta Alpha Psi is a great benefit for our students,” SoBA Adjunct Professor and Academic Director Richard Savich said. “It indicates that the students, faculty and staff at UC Riverside are among the best in the nation.”

The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. The organization promotes the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.
