AGSM Reads Across America

AGSM Read Across America(February 28, 2014)

On February 28, staff and students from UC Riverside's A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) participated in National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America Day. AGSM traveled to Monroe Elementary School in Riverside, CA to read to children and teach the importance of literacy and language.

"We're so grateful for such a high turnout! It really means a lot that AGSM was able to bring so many people," says Morgan Baeza, teacher from Monroe Elementary School. In attendance from AGSM was Irene Song, Rich Reyes, Andrew Monroe, Yi Sun, Wang Yang, Keyang Huang, Connie Kuo, Michelle Hsueh, and Jung Wang. Also joining AGSM was Ramona High School,  California Baptist University, and the California Highway Patrol. Of the experience Song says, "It was so much fun to be able to come out here and make a difference to the kids. When you see their eyes light-up, you can tell that they like it too."

Read Across America Day is the NEA's signature event. This year's event is the 17th anniversary since the inception of the program and the first-time that AGSM has participated.
