Kathleen Montgomery
Professor of Organizations and Management
Kathleen Montgomery is Professor of Organizations and Management in the Department of Management and Marketing. She teaches courses in managing behavior in organizations, work force diversity, human resource management, and health care management; she is a frequent participant in the University Honors Program.
Kathleen also holds an appointment as Visiting Professor at the Centre for Values, Ethics, and the Law in Medicine at the University of Sydney. Previously, she has been a visiting scholar at Stanford and UCLA. She recently completed a six-year tenure as an elected officer of the Health Care Management Division of the Academy of Management, including Division Chair.
Her PhD in sociology is from New York University, where she began her ongoing research on the relationships between health care professionals and organizations. Kathleen's current research focuses on trust and integrity, including ethical issues that arise from conflicting stakeholder interests, both in health care management and in the conduct of health care research.
Kathleen has received awards both for her teaching (Professor of the Year of the University Honors Program) and for her research (Ascendant Scholar and several Best Paper awards).
