BIO:
Professor Mohsen Elhafsi is the Associate Dean for the MBA Program and a professor at AGSM. He received both PhD and MSc degrees in 1995 from the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Florida and was FKF Honor Graduate. He received a “Qualified Engineer” degree from the “École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis,” Tunisia, in 1988. In 1996, he joined AGSM as a visiting assistant professor and became a tenure-track faculty member in 1997. In 2002, he was promoted to associate professor. He was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship for the 2006-2007 academic year to spend his sabbatical year in France at the “École Centrale de Lille,” one of France’s elite engineering schools. There he worked with host researchers at the Industrial and Logistics Laboratory on supply chain management issues ranging from coordination to performance measures and assessment. In 2007, he was awarded a $10,000 COR Research Fellowship (a new fellowship program administered by the Academic Senate Committee on Research) for his proposal to work on supply chain issues related to contract manufacturing. His areas of research include operations and supply chain management, manufacturing and service operations, and production and inventory systems. He is the author of numerous articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as: Management Science, IIE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, Production and Operations Management, and Global Optimization.
