Curriculum Vitae , updated 02/2015

Hyun A (Shana) Hong’s research focuses on price discovery in derivative markets, such as the credit default swap market, the options market, and the equity lending market, as well as the effect of corporate governance and regulation changes in an international setting. Her research has been published in top accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies.

Shana earned her PhD in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from the University of Southern California. She received a Master’s degree in statistics from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Seoul National University. Shana was an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Memphis before joining the University of California, Riverside. Prior to joining academia, Shana worked as a systems engineer at DongBu Information Systems, and as an ERP accounting consultant at LG-EDS; both companies are in Seoul, South Korea. She passed the Certified Public Accountant Exam in California.
